Course reviews

Chicken Health & Poorly Hen Care

‘‘The chicken health course was a great way to learn how to better look after my pet chickens. I would say its good for both beginners and experienced keepers. We learnt about common health issues and how to manage them and went home with some helpful handouts that we can refer back to. It was interactive and great both to learn practical skills (crop feeding and bandaging) but also to speak with other chicken carers’’

‘‘I would highly recommend this course to chicken keepers!!’’

‘‘I am so pleased that I went on the chicken health course with the wonderful vet Sharon! Even though I’ve kept chickens for over 25 years and I am a veterinary nurse, there was still so much for me to learn and plenty of opportunities to ask questions! The presentation and handout notes were detailed and clear to follow, accompanied by great demonstrations and hands on practice - even a goody bag of essentials to take home! It was so lovely to meet and connect with others on the course that were so passionate about their hens welfare and husbandry too! The course was all day, with gaps for breaks (tasty coffee and biscuits provided!) and a cafe on site for lunch! ‘‘

‘‘I would definitely recommend this course to anyone keeping or interested in keeping chickens!’’
