Home visits, in and around Bristol

A woman (Sharon Evans, poultry vet) crouching on a lawn with a brown chicken in front of her, near a house with a fenced yard.

The benefits of seeing your birds in their own environment are huge:

  • It reduces the stress of your sick bird needing to travel to the veterinary clinic

  • All of your birds can be seen together to assess if the problem is a flock issue or an individual bird issue

  • Poultry-friendly medicines can be prescribed, and advice on how to administer them

  • Your birds’ environment can be reviewed & specific advice given to help keep your flock healthy

  • Specific biosecurity advice - especially keeping your birds safe to protect against avian influenza

What’s included in a home visit:

  • Standard appointments (start at £49, for 25 minutes) are generally enough time to examine a sick bird, take a brief look over the environment, and prescribe medication (if needed)

  • Charges apply for extra time during the visit, i.e. additional bird examinations, multiple issues, more in-depth husbandry advice, etc, and will be charged per 10 minutes

  • Mileage is charged at £1 per mile. Please email me for charge estimates if you live more than 7 miles from BS10 (additional charges apply)*
